The Foundation for Diabetes Research was founded in July 1999 by former members of the North Jersey Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The mission of the Foundation for Diabetes Research is to support research aimed at a cure for diabetes and prevention of its severe complications. Research programs will be selected by a peer review process.

  • Education Meeting

    FDR’s annual Education meeting was held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the St. Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center, Livingston, NJ. This year’s speakers were Barbara Ortiz and Lourdes Andrews, representatives of the American Diabetes Association.   Their presentation “Keeping Your Child Safe at School: Safety and Fairness for Children with Diabetes” included topics such as 504 Plans, legal advocacy available, education of parents and nurses, and all the latest legislation available to protect children’s rights throughout their years of schooling.

  • 2016 – 5th Annual Rollerskating Event

    FDR’s 5th annual Rollerskating Event was held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Florham Park Roller Rink. Over 125 kids, parents and friends attended the event. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this a successful and fun event.

  • 2016 – 25th Annual Golf Classic

    Thank you to all the supports and golfers for helping to make FDR’s 25th Anniversary Golf Outing such a wonderful event.  We hope everyone had a wonderful day and enjoyed the special additions to this year’s event such as the $100,000 Hole in One contest, the Silver Ball competition and the fabulous golf shoes given to all participating golfers.  Thanks also to Mountain Ridge Country Club staff for their help in making the golf outing a first rate event.

  • 2016 Harvest for Hope event – Wednesday, October 26, 2016 – The Grove, Cedar Grove, NJ

    Planning has already begun for this year’s event. Call or email the FDR office to get involved. Volunteers and new ideas are always welcomed.

    2015 Harvest for Hope

    We would like to think you for supporting our Harvest for Hope event held on October 13, 2015 at The Grove in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.  Our evening was a tremendous success with over 425 people in attendance! We are excited to report that we raised over $167,000 for diabetes research. These proceeds will allow us to continue to support new and promising research grants in order to find a cure for diabetes.  Your support is absolutely critical to our progress.

  • FDR’s Signature Bracelet

    FDR is still selling our Signature Bracelets for Diabetes. They are black or hematite beaded bracelets with a blue rhinestone circle.  The blue circle is the universal sign for diabetes which symbolizes unity.  Together we can make a difference. Bracelets will be sold through the FDR office. Each bracelet is $25. Please call or email FDR to place your order.

  • NEW FDR Silicone Bracelet

    FDR is also selling silicone bracelets in royal blue or purple with “A Cure would be Sweet” slogan.  Each silicone bracelet is $3 or 2 bracelets for $5.  Please call or email FDR to place your order.
